We are a bit behind on posting blogs over here, it’s been about 12 months since I photographed this event and I just keep thinking back to how wonderful this night was! I was just telling Tim last night that I think Steve and Jan’s 50th Wedding Anniversary was quite possibly my favourite event I photographed last year.
Now to the story! I received an email from Angela a wonderful daughter organising a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration for her parents Steven and Jan. We chatted over the phone and instantly knew it was a done deal and we were the perfect fit. There’s something about tired Mums of toddlers that we just share an instant bond!
Held at the Arana Hills Leagues Club in their upstairs function room decorated in pink and gold. Photos from Steve and Jan’s Wedding day were on display, along with Jan’s Wedding dress and decor from 50 years ago!
The ORIGINAL Bridal Party lead Steve and Jan into the party room and it got me right in the feels! I just think Steve and Jan have a beautiful love story, an amazing family and I can only just hope for my husband Tim and I to share the same love in 43 years times too.
Angela had organised it all! There was a man sprayed gold as a statue to surprise guests, there was a singing Italian chef who had the room in fits of laughter and tears. Then came Sweet Caroline Reachin’ out, touching me, touchin’ you, the song played loud and strong, every guest magically pulled pompoms out of their bags, from under their chairs, stood up and started belting out the song waving their pompoms proudly in the air. I kid you not, this happened multiple times during the night and it was GOLD.
12 months later I still get those warm feelings inside thinking back to this night!
