Twin Waters Conference

One EPIC week of photography! Where do I possible start?!

Last month a fitness group had their annual conference which they held at Twin Waters in the brand new Sunshine Coast Convention Centre, an awesome venue! I absolutely loved photographing this venue, it has to be one of the most beautiful Convention Centres in Queensland, it just had such a lovely outlook and feel to it. But that could also be all the amazing people that were at the Conference!

Let’s talk Loud Events, The event organisers, planners, stylists, coordinators, all round good guys that made this amazing event possible. The team of ladies from Loud Events are awesome to work alongside, they think of everything and are super friendly, I can’t wait to work together and photograph this fantastic conference again in 2020!

Day 1. Check in, spot a wallaby, enjoy a walk, expo sticky beak then welcome drinks. The perfect way to start a conference, music, drinks, networking and some fun photos while you make friends in the business.

Day 2. Time for the Summit to start, a with a bang! Todd Sampson, motivational speaker, body hacker, documentary maker, marketing wiz, tv personality, all round awesome guy opened the Summit and motivated the room! Speakers from around the world followed, the fitness teams fueled up on protein, kombucha and coffee, powering through the day with smiles on their faces.

The evening followed with a Mexican Fiesta on the beach at the Twin Waters Resort. Styling fantastic? Yes! A colourful night, sangria, mariachi band and limbo, the perfect way to bond as a team.

Day 3. A morning gym session to start the day! Held in a custom built EPIC gym in the marquee just for this event, it was impressive to photograph! It made me wish I was fit and able to give it all a go! Ha, but I’m not talented in that way! Mingling and snacking on health food samples before heading into a day of panel talks and inspirations speakers. Topped off with an afternoon gym session to complete the day.

Day 4. This was the big one. And I mean BIG. The usual morning gym sessions to start the day before learning all about social media. Then came for the guest speaker. Michael Crossland, raw, real and truly life-changing. You need to hear Michael speak!

After lunch it was time to meet the Sunshine Butterflies who support individuals and their families living with disability. After a warm up team building exercise session in the field all the kiddies started to arrive! A ton of building supplies were ready for a billy cart derby build and race! Teams worked together with a child to build (and decorate) their very own billy cart. Once the building was complete it was time to test them out!

Adults first, make sure the carts are safe for the kids! Many races took place over the next hour and up in the cherry pick I went to capture a birds eye view photo of the event. Even the assistance dogs received medals for their wins! It was such a beautiful afternoon.

A small and well deserved rest before the Gala dinner, time to freshen up! The team from Loud Events flipped the conference space into a epic showpiece. The room was stunning, as guests entered and took their seats a flash mob of wait staff started the party! Awards celebrating everyone’s hard work were handed out followed by a video of the weeks festivities was screened which lit up the room. The band kicks off and I head back to my room ot get cracking on the editing!

What a week! I had an absolute ball photographing this conference, it was such a brilliant team to work with and I would do it all again in a heartbeat!
