Julian’s Baptism

FILED IN: Events

Photographing baby Julians Baptism at the Cathedral of St Stephens in Brisbane’s CBD on the weekend was such an incredible pleasure and inspiration. The love and strong sense of family and history on display was so moving and uplifting I couldn’t keep the smile of my face for the rest of the day.

Meeting parents, Danielle and Christian for the first time the morning of the Baptism I was immediately touched by their warmth, easy going nature and generosity. I had to keep reminding myself I was in family photographer mode and to stop chatting and laughing with the pair, something I failed terribly at. In between the laughs we managed to capture some truly wonderful photographs of the family and baby Julian before the ceremony began.

The baptism, while intimate, was full of a rich sense of family and history with baby Julian adopting some of the items from his brother Sebastian’s own Baptism. Christians family in Mexico joined us via skype and were able to partake in the ceremony from 14,359 kilometers away! The day however proved a little too big for baby Julian, with the precious little bub falling asleep in his dads arms before the end of the ceremony.

It is such an honour to be invited to photograph events in Brisbane such as these, to not only help capture but share in the special moments and love that happen on these historic days. – Tim

And I think they liked Tim too! With this beautiful email coming in from Danielle:

“Just wanted to tell you that Tim was amazing, such a lovely and gentle soul. I was feeling very anxious because Sebastian was running around – unfortunately he wasn’t as thrilled about photos hahaha! Kids!
Just wanted to say Thankyou to Tim! He was so lovely, accommodating and understanding. Looking forward to seeing the pictures :)”

Yeah I think my Husband is pretty awesome too! Thanks Danielle xo – Anna
